"I am sure that caring, sincere people whose hearts are full of love will be able to change the world for the better"
The foundation of our organization was formed back in 2014 when the first wave of displaced persons from Donetsk and Luhansk faced a multitude of problems in an unfamiliar city. They needed places to live, shoes, clothing for themselves and their children, food, and basic household items. We met other women in queues, helped each other, and provided support.
Over time, we, the mothers of children with disabilities and internally displaced women, organized ourselves into an initiative group called the "Club of Special Women." In July 2022, we officially registered as the public organization "Litay." Currently, we support more than 130 families, but this number is growing due to Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, forcing people to leave their homes. Our organization is focused on ensuring that mothers have access to various forms of assistance: psycho-emotional, educational, legal, and humanitarian.
OUR MISSION
Comprehensive support of mothers, development of their self-sufficiency through psycho-emotional, educational, legal
and humanitarian aid

Our team - this is a union of caring, strong professionals who have rallied for a good cause
Valentyna Uvarova
Leader of NGO "Litay"
She is initiative-driven, determined, compassionate, and always ready to help and support—these qualities define her as the head of the organization. Valentyna has been displaced from Luhansk since 2014. She is the mother of two sons: the elder has a disability, and the younger is only a year and a half old. She understands the issues faced by the women in her organization because she is navigating this challenging journey herself.
Valentyna has higher education: in 2007, she graduated with honors from the East Ukrainian National University named after V.Dahl with a degree in Economics. In 2023, she obtained a second higher education degree in Social Work from Nizhyn State University named after Mykola Gogol. She has been involved in social projects since 2014 and previously worked as a senior referent in the Office of the Government Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
