We are thrilled to have a community of volunteers, our wonderful helpers. This community is in a Telegram channel, which you can join after filling out a Google form. We gladly facilitate meetings for networking, communication, exchanging experiences, brainstorming new ideas, and planning new activities and events! We also assist in gaining practical experience in training within our NGO. We are one team, and volunteers are our treasure! Currently, 20 volunteers are our support and backbone. Thank you to each of them! We will share stories of volunteering to introduce you to people whose hearts are filled with love.
We invite youth and students who want to gain experience, complete internships with our NGO, and receive recommendations for future work to join our team. In our friendly circle, you will be supported, helped, and taught.
We also welcome those who wish to do good and see the results—reflected in the grateful and hopeful eyes of mothers. We have a place for everyone, and you will experience indescribable joy and inspiration from what you do.
Certified English teacher
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
English has been my hobby since my youth and later became my profession. In 2023, I used to live in Ireland where I had an opportunity to study at the TEFL Institute and receive an international teaching diploma. I also had a wonderful chance to work as a volunteer teacher in NGO "Litay."
I have always dreamt of starting an English speaking club so when I was offered an opportunity to teach English as a volunteer, I had no doubts about conducting the classes. Together with a native speaker Danny, I gave English lessons to a group of Ukrainian women for 6 months. Our students had a great opportunity to learn real conversational English for everyday life and Denny’s sense of humor made our lessons fun.
Being a volunteer for me means giving a part of myself to others, sharing my knowledge and being helpful especially now when we all need it.
Web design, assistance with event organization
My name is Lina and I am a volunteer in NGO "Litay." Although I don’t have a lot of experience in volunteering but I can say that it is really great! The feelings you get when you see smiles and happy eyes of the people you’ve helped is the reason why I became a volunteer. My first volunteer experience was at St. Nicholas Day “Little dragon Ball.” It was an incredible experience and I really enjoyed it especially seeing the children’s joy getting gifts and having fun at the event!
Volunteering has changed my perspective on many things. Moreover, I can definitely say that it is my favorite activity now and my duty to be a good volunteer. I am also thrilled that thanks to NGO "Litay," I received a laptop from the Sovereign Order of Malta to Ukraine! It is simply incredible! Now, I will have an opportunity to learn web design not only on my phone, as I did before, but also on the laptop. What I learn, I will certainly be able to implement as part of my volunteer work in NGO "Litay."
Anna Kovaliova
Sewing toys, conducting craft workshops
Anna has been a displaced person from Donetsk since 2014. She is a master of handmade soft toys. Anna's exclusive Dragon toys (65 in total) and personalized owl plushies have become favorite toys of our little ones. Our children adore stuffed toys which give them comfort and cuddles at any time. Every workshop conducted by Anna is a small celebration for our mothers.
"Volunteering inspires me. During these difficult times for all of us, I want to make the world around us a better place. My motto is: 'I can’t change the world, but I can give a few smiles!'"
Natalia Lobanenko
Event administrator
What does volunteering mean to me? It is an energetic contribution to my future and the future of my family. I love doing good and useful things for other people. When we conducted a spring celebration with NGO "Litay," I felt incredible joy from not only investing my time into a preparation but also my soul. We got the results as mothers had an opportunity to wind down, they were truly inspired and gained some resources for the future. I’m grateful to NGO for the opportunity to participate in something energetically powerful and important. I believe that every good deed is an advantage in our personal experience.

Volunteer, English native speaker
“To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.” – Chinese Proverb
Volunteering with the “Litay” project was a real pleasure for me because I enjoy both interacting with others and the opportunity to play a small part in helping others in practical ways. For me the meetings and lessons were mutually beneficial. As I was contributing to lively conversations, I was learning about the lives of individuals before me on screen, each with their own story. In the vocation I am from we have a saying "It’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools" and I think this can apply to language as well. The spoken or written word is a tool to communicate but the real communication is rooted in -understanding. Language learning can help us understand people across the room and across the world, I hope my small effort with NGO “Litay” added to understanding.
Olga Golubieva
Coach, trainer, mentor
Since 2017, she has worked in the charitable and public sector as a coach, trainer, and mentor for people in challenging life circumstances (internally displaced persons, families with children with disabilities, teenagers from orphanages, families with children under guardianship).
"In 2022, as a mother with three young children, I was forced to leave my home due to the war and found myself in a situation where I needed help with everyday tasks and psychological support to stabilize my emotional state and adapt to new living conditions. With my professional experience and knowledge of working with mothers like me, and having experienced similar challenges myself, I understand how much I can be of help to the women in our organization and see great meaning in this."
