The Power of Support

On January 11, 2026, the NGO “Litay” held the training “The Power of Support”, aimed at strengthening women’s internal resources, in particular mothers of children with disabilities and women from among internally displaced persons

Within the framework of the event, participants received knowledge on protecting children’s rights from Valentyna Uvarova, as well as psychosocial support tools for coping with prolonged stress from crisis psychologist Svitlana Zhorova. Trainer Viktoriia Vasylevska shared her experience in positive parenting . The event concluded with an art-therapy session led by craftswoman Nataliia Dolmatova — macramé weaving.

The value of the training lay in creating a safe women’s circle where participants could be heard, share experiences, and feel support. For mothers of children with disabilities, this is critically important, as they often find themselves in situations of social isolation, chronic fatigue, and loneliness, when society’s main attention is focused on the needs of the child rather than the well-being of the woman beside them.

The event was aimed not only at gaining knowledge, but also at forming an inner support — a woman’s ability to rely on herself, to recognize her own boundaries, the moment when it is time to give herself even a short break and the right to support. At the same time, an important component was reliance on the circle — a community of women with similar experiences and the feeling of “I am not alone.”

NGO “Litay” continues to work on creating events focused on psycho-emotional support, where women can restore their strength, strengthen self-confidence, and find resources for life and motherhood in difficult conditions.
We sincerely thank DREAM Shopping Mall for their support in organizing the event and providing the venue.
